What is the rationale for classifying EHR, CPOE and CDSS as patient-centric management systems?

Individually as well as in conjunction, these three are paramount in the safety and improvement of the overall health of a patient. EHR, for instance, helps keep a patient safe and secure, especially while in hospital. The records are kept in check and up-to date so that the health of a patient can be monitored and managed, with the right group of authorized individuals being in charge. CPOE works in such a way as to allow the dispensation of drugs and medication to patients after feeding the computer with the doctor’s prescription on a specific patient. The pharmacy management system works effectively if the correct prescription is input into the system therefore enabling the patient’s health condition to go back to normal. An effective transfer of information is required taking into account how resource-intensive it may be. CDSs are embedded in EHRs. They are conducted by the health professionals in charge who in the end get to update the health information of the patient in its accuracy (Tan, Payton & Tan, 2010).
